Jaguar xf Review - Germany’s demand for luxurious sedan is on the rise and the most popular model right now is the Jaguar XF 2015 sedan. The comfort of the Jaguar XF 2015 sedan could be felt when it is driven. There is a red button to switch the engine on, a gear selector that is movable upwards, and an air ventilation that automatically opens.
The vibrations that are usually felt when driving is lessen by the XF midsize system that overcomes the problem. The excellences of previous model are also maintained. Even so, the comfort that is felt when driving the Jaguar XF and the quality of the interior are the same as its competitors. There are also many good points in the Jaguar XF.
Even so, the Jaguar XF also has several weaknesses, namely the sound and navigation system are difficult to use, with slow response and rather unresponsive compared to its competitors. The safety feature is also no too active at every turn, but it is up to you, whether you will turn to 2015 cars like Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, Lexus SG, or Mercedes-Benz E-Class. However, the Jaguar XF 2015 needs to be considered because of its many strong points that you will not find in any other cars.
Body Shape, Luxuriousness, and Features
The 2015 Jaguar XF is a sedan targeted to upper middle class and offered in eight options, which are 2.0 T Premium, Portfolio 3.0 (available in RWD or AWD), 3.0 Sport (available in RWD or AWD), 5.0 Supercharged, XFR, and lastly XFR-S.
The standard feature in the XF 2.0 T Premium is the 4 cylinder turbocharged engine, 18-inch tires, xenon lights, LED rear lights, rear parking camera sensor, side mirror camera, monitoring screen, keyless door, automatic wiper, dual-zone automatic temperature controller, automatic silencer, leather seats, six seats, two front seats, steering function and 60/40 split, 7-inch touch screen, Bluetooth phone and audio connection, navigation system and twelve speakers with a CD player, satellite and HD radio, integrated with iPod, USB and auxiliary audio input.
In addition to the V6 supercharged engine, the XF 3.0 Sport is also equipped with 20-inch tires with elegant sides, black window frames, shiny black interior curves, 14-way driver and eight-way power passenger seats, and a customable dynamic steer mode.
Both the Model XF 5.0 Supercharged and XFR can be chosen with Black Pack as well as special provided tires, slim windows, slender bumper and trunk, and red brake curves (standard on the XFR). The XFR can be chosen with the Speed Package with upgraded speed and the addition of sprinter front bumper and rear spoiler.
Powertrains and Performance
The Jaguar XF engine produces a power of 100 horse power while the 2015 Jaguar XF is on top from the performance perspective. XF 2.0 T uses four cylinder turbocharge which produce 240 horse power and 251 pound-feet revolutions.
XF 3.0 uses the V6 Supercharged 3.0-liter engine, producing 340 hp and 332 lb-ft revolutions. There is a difference between rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive. The estimated time for the rear drive Jaguar XF to reach 60 mph is 5,7 seconds, while the all-drive version is 6,1 seconds. The EPA estimates the use of fuel by the rear drive 3.0 at 22 mpg (18 mpg city/28 mpg highway) and the all-drive version at 20 mpg (17/27).
The XF 5.0 Supercharger received lots of demands. The sport version is equipped with a V8 5.0-liter engine with 470 hp and 424 lb-ft revolutions. The car only needs 4,5 seconds to reach 60 mph. however the XFR has an advantage, it reaches 510 hp and 461 lb-ft revs drom a V8 Supercharged engine, and the XFR-S experienced an improvement up to 550 hp and 502 lb-ft revs.
Interior Design and Special Features
When the car is turned on, the vibrations are felt and the desire to move the gear selector to the middle emerges, and the flat dash panel suddenly opens into an air ventilation. Even so the cabin design with the classic Jaguar model is still maintained with modern bits that could be seen from the new added materials. However we could feel the seat to be a little tight at the front and the back compared to the E-Class and 5-Series, but it is apt for an upper middle class sedan.
On the other hand, the bonnet is large, measuring 17,7 cubic meters. The backseat could be folded to add the capacity of other stuffs or luggage.
There are several drawbacks in the interior, such as the limited facilities and the use of old models like the large roof pillar which limit the rear view, so you’d need to depend on the park sensor and side mirrors. Fortunately the safety technologies is equipped so there is no need for worrying when driving. Another drawback is the Jaguar information system which is displayed on a small screen with plain graphics, long loading time and a difficult to use menu.
